Burnplate ("Burnplate", "we", "us", "our") is built by Neumosys. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email support@burnplate.com .
1. Information we collect
Account
When you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email (or Apple's private relay address). We use this to create and secure your account.
Profile & goals
The details you give us to build your plan — such as age, sex, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, allergies, country, and your goal. Some of this is health-related information, which we treat with extra care.
Food, workouts & photos
The meals and workouts you log, the sets and reps you record, and the photos you take to scan food. A food photo is sent to our processors to detect what is on the plate; you always review and confirm the result before anything is logged.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you grant permission, Burnplate reads and writes data such as workouts and active energy to keep your day accurate. We only access the categories you approve, we never use Health data for advertising, and you can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status — never your card number or full payment details.
Device, usage & analytics
Basic device information, app version, a push token (if you enable notifications), diagnostic or crash data, and usage analytics — which screens and features you use, and advertising/measurement identifiers — that help us keep the app working and understand and improve it.
2. How we use your information
- Provide the core service: planning, logging, and the burn that connects them.
- Generate your personalized meal and workout plans.
- Estimate calories and nutrition from the food you scan or log.
- Send the reminders and notifications you turn on.
- Process subscriptions and provide support.
- Keep Burnplate secure, debug issues, and improve features.
3. AI processing
Some features rely on AI providers (for example, to read a food photo or generate a plan). To do this, the relevant input — such as your photo, the meal description, or your goals — is sent to those providers to return a result. We do not sell your data, and we ask our providers not to use your content to train their general models. AI estimates are approximations and may be wrong; you stay in control and confirm what gets logged.
4. Analytics & advertising
We collect usage and analytics data — how features are used, what works, and what breaks — to run, measure, and improve Burnplate, and to measure and inform our own marketing and advertising of the app (for example, to understand which campaigns bring people who find Burnplate useful).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share information that identifies you with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own purposes. Where we use analytics, we rely on aggregated or de-identified data wherever we can.
5. How we share information
Beyond the above, the only parties that receive your data are the service providers below, and only so they can operate Burnplate on our behalf — not for their own purposes:
- Infrastructure — our cloud host (Cloudflare) which stores and serves your data.
- AI providers — to power food detection and plan generation, as described above.
- RevenueCat & Apple — to process and verify subscriptions.
- Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you enable.
- Legal — when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the service.
6. Retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app — this begins a soft-delete, after which your personal data is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal or financial reasons. Backups are rotated on a regular schedule.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can do most of this in the app; for anything else, email support@burnplate.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children
Burnplate is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you if something goes wrong.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Burnplate evolves. We will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, give you notice in the app.
